Other than that, we don't have many details about the gameplay. Unlike Pillars of Eternity games, Avowed will not be an isometric cRPG rather, it will be a first-person RPG. Avowed gameplay Avowed is a first-person RPG, and rumours claim that it will be similar to Skyrim, but much larger. Observant Redditors were able to decipher the runes engraved on the sword in the trailer, and according to u/taclane, the sword's name is Oathbinder, further proof that Woedica will be an essential aspect of the story.
Currently, a popular rumour swirling around is that Avowed is a prequel to Pillars of Eternity games, set in a distant past. Given that Woedica is one of the deities of particular importance in the Empire of Aedyr, that might be the location of Avowed or at least one of the locations. Woedica is also known as "Oathbinder", and she is the one responsible for shaping the world of Eora, but other gods conspired against her and killed her as she was becoming too powerful. The gods are really important in the Pillars of Eternity universe, and we've seen in the Avowed trailer some familiar gods (the banner seen in the Avowed trailer is related to Woedica). While this is not a direct sequel to Pillars of Eternity, both PoE games and Avowed are set in the same world of Eora. Is this Pillars of Eternity 3? Avowed's story and setting Woedica's symbol is seen in the trailer.
